1983: Legal Immunity

29 June - 2 July

The Open Stage, Parkville

Law Revue Statement:

The Law Revue acknowledge that the Revue show name for 1983 was ‘Legal Aids No One Is Immune’. After careful consideration, out of respect for those who were and are still affected by the AIDS epidemic, we have chosen to represent the show in a different way in our history section. The 1983 Law Revue choices do not represent the views of the Law Revue, nor those currently involved in its production. We hope our audiences accept this knowledge as a tribute to the 1983 Law Revue, who sought to bring laughter in a time of loss.

“Officer Michael Karaffa is not content to let the title of this year’s Law Revue speak for itself. He stresses, a trifle smugly, that this production by the Melbourne University’s Law Students’ Society features “festering bucket fulls of bad”

“The show has been received extremely well, and its cast of dynamic young people in the peak of physical condition are showing no signs of flagging under the strain of delivering lusty choruses and dances. Mr Karaffa is optimistic enough to suggest that there may be several future PMs in the cast, although whether predominantly Labor or Liberal he could not tell because of the anarchic nature of their contributions to the script.”
